Village development society is a group of youth farmers, experts, professionals and people from non government organization (ngo). It was established in the year 1997 on 14th of  Jan for the benefit of mankind especially to empower the weaker-, dalit & neglected people through legal awareness on health,education,livelihood,equal participation & low.

It was established in the year 1997 for the benefit of mankind especially for the empowerment of weaker, exploited & neglected people through legal awareness on health, education, livelihood, equal participation & law.

It’s been a long road for Village Development Society since 1997 when an informal group of young people came together voluntarily to fight against social injustice and improve quality of life in and around Haridwar and initiated youth led activities with an idea of developing the socio-economic backbone of the community. In the process it initiated activities by facilitating issues primarily concerning education, health, livelihood and empowerment of women among the socio-economically weaker sections.

Without any financial assistance,  VDS went to interfere and initiate things just for its own learning among the poor communities of Bhagwanpur, Roorkee, Narsan, Khanpur & Bahadrabad block of district Haridwar & also working with livelihood, health, education, environment activities in Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar, Almora, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Tehri & Shamali and Saharanpur districts of UP.

VDS is working with support from center govt. & state government’s programs like Swajal. It has also been recognized by UOCB, UBB, IWDP, UPASAK, NABARD, NRHM, DRDA, DH & FWS Haridwar.
